Greetings! I’m Kristina-thank you so much for stopping by!
Sand Dollar Candle Company was born from a spark of inspiration: a brief conversation, a lifelong love of candles, and deep-rooted memories of the New England coast. I spent many childhood summers in Maine, and later, my husband and I called it home for over eight wonderful years.

At Sand Dollar, we create seaside-inspired candles that stir the senses and awaken memory. Each one is hand-crafted, hand-poured, and steeped in story—designed to help you unwind and wander. We believe scent is transport—and a candle is more than fragrance: it’s an invitation to escape, if only for a moment.

It all began in the summer of 2020, while visiting a local farmers market, we met a soapmaker whose story stuck with me. He shared how, during his childhood summer visits in England, his grandmother taught him how to make soaps. Though he didn’t start his business until later in life, he told me his only regret was not beginning much earlier-and encouraged me to pursue something I was passionate about.
That conversation lit a fire in me.

With a background in marketing, advertising, selling, and creative writing, I’ve discovered that creating is where I truly come alive. From an early age, my parents nurtured my artistic side, encouraging me to explore and express my creativity. I’ve always been drawn to the world of art, music, handmade crafts—and especially the warm, comforting glow of candles.
Years ago, I was a consultant for a well-known candle company, sharing products in the homes of welcoming hosts. But I never imagined I’d be hand-crafting and hand-pouring my own. After years of meticulous testing with waxes, wicks, and fragrances, I developed a coconut wax blend that offers a clean, beautiful burn. Though it’s a custom blend, our candles are primarily made with 100% coconut wax, hand-poured in small batches right here in Canton, NY—near the scenic Saint Lawrence Seaway.

SAND DOLLAR LEGEND
There’s a lovely little legend
that I would like to tell,
of the birth and death of Jesus, found in this lowly shell.
If you examine closely,
you’ll see that you find here,
four nail holes and a fifth one, made by a Roman’s spear.
On one side the Easter lily,
its center is the star,
that appeared unto the shepherds and led them from afar.
The Christmas Poinsettia
etched on the other side,
reminds us of His birthday,
our happy Christmastide.
Now break the center open,
and here you will release,
the five white doves awaiting, to spread Good Will and Peace.
This simple little symbol,
Christ left for you and me,
to help us spread His Gospel, through all Eternity.
